Men: the super-pair delivers

#1: Agustín Tapia & Arturo Coello — 21,337 points. The much-debated pairing of the sport's two best players has done exactly what it threatened to: three titles from the early season (Riyadh, Cancún, Málaga) and finals in most of the rest. The chasers: Ale Galán & Fede Chingotto, who have beaten the #1s three times in finals this year (Gijón, Miami, Giza) — this is a real rivalry, not a procession. The wildcard: Juan Lebrón & Leo Augsburger, who took Brussels by beating the #1s from a set down. Behind them: Stupaczuk/Yanguas and a tight midfield where Paquito Navarro, Coki Nieto and Martín Di Nenno fight for semifinal weeks.

Women: three pairs, one throne

#1: Delfi Brea & Gemma Triay — 18,257 points, with titles in Gijón, Cancún and Málaga. But the first six events produced five different champions: Ari Sánchez & Andrea Ustero won Riyadh, and Bea González & Paula Josemaría ripped off three straight (Miami, Giza, Brussels) before Málaga. The women's tour is the most competitive it's been in years.
